Maturity Compass

Rate how well your process delivers the value you defined. Your own honest scoring, gapped against target.

The Maturity Compass does not turn the loop. It runs alongside it, and that is deliberate: it answers a different question. The loop asks what is wrong and how do we fix it. The Maturity Compass asks are we the kind of organisation that can keep it fixed.

You score how well your process actually delivers the value the Compass defined — your own honest assessment, by the people who run the work, gapped against target. Nobody grades you. The number is only useful if it is true.

It is the inward look that explains why improvements stick in one area and evaporate in another. A team can attack a loss and win; whether the win survives a shift change is a maturity question, not a Kaizen one. Use it when you want to know what your improvement work will cost you, and what it will hold.
