Move three belongs to two modules, and neither owns it. The Makigami takes the half that most improvement work ignores: the office and the information flow.
You map what actually happens — activities, the roles that touch them, every handover, and the waiting nobody times because nobody is standing next to it. That last one is usually where the lead time went. Material moves in hours; approvals sit in inboxes for days.
It hands the same thing the Value Stream Map does: a flow you can see, with the delays named rather than assumed. Run it where the work is decisions, documents and handoffs — order handling, engineering change, month-end close. If your losses live in the office, this is the map that finds them, and the VSM will not.
